GENERAL WINTER ACTIVITIES

***************SCROLL DOWN FOR PHOTOS*************** January 14, 2011: With all the snowfall this season, conditions for snowshoeing are excellent. Enjoy all the great scenery. We have now set up both of our fish houses for guest rental. Our large house is set up within walking distance of the resort grounds is set up on our normally productive point. Ice thickness is at 9 inches and is the clear/strong ice we always like to see. Ice surface conditions are not perfect however is still a lot of fun getting out on the ice with the skates. Get your skis, snowmobiles, snowshoes, ice skates, sleds, fish house ready for the 2011 winter season.

Cabins and day ski passes are available. Day ski passes are only $5 and are included free with cabin rental. We have a variety of winter activities at Rainbow Resort including fishing, sliding, skiing, skating, snow shoeing, snowmobiling, indoor game room, disc golf, etc. Ski, snow shoe, ice skate & fish rentals are available. We are just 1/2 hour from Itasca State Park and the headwaters of the Mississippi River and are located on the north boundary of the Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge.

Stay for as little as $35/person per night on the weekends (4 persons in a two bedroom cabin). Take advantage of our winter and spring specials including HALF-PRICE RATES for mid-week stays (Monday - Thursday nights)stay for as little as $68.00 for a 3-night stay. HALF-PRICE RATES Sunday night if you stay Friday and Saturday nights, 20% large group discount for groups of 20 or more, & special 2-person discount of 25% in a 2-bedroom cabin on Friday and Saturday nights (excluding holidays). Take advantage of our Wild Wednesday weekend specials by calling on Wednesday or later in the week for our specials for the coming weekend.

January 9, 2011: Snowshoeing is great fun and a wonderful way to enjoy the beautiful scenery in the woods. With the deep snow conditions, snowshoeing is excellent for this winter season.

January 9, 2011: Family Winter Outing: Guests can enjoy a variety of activities, sledding, skiing, skating and snowshoeing. Day pass is only $15.00 for a family or relax and stay in one of our cabins or vacation homes.

Ice Fishing: Early season ice fishing is great for catching walleye. Once ice is thick enough we have rental fish houses.
