Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge

Tamarac National Wildlife Refuge is located adjacent to the south shore of Little Bemidji Lake (2 miles from the resort). With its thousands of acres, the refuge provides an exceptional opportunity for observing nature, by hiking via trails or by canoeing from our Little Bemidji Lake. Itasca State Park

Itasca State Park is within a half hour drive. It is Minnesota's first state park and has more than 30,000 acres. (Click Here for our Itasca State Park slide show.) This is where the Mississippi River begins its journey to the Gulf of Mexico. There are miles of hiking, biking, and skiing trails and beautiful stands of Norway Pine.
